what barriers do you face while accessing health care services

Article 43 of the Kenyan Constitution states that every Kenyan has a right to quality and affordable health care, including reproductive health; it further states that no Kenyan can be denied access to emergency health services when in need. The implication of this article is that barriers to health care services of whatever kind will not hinder access, hence the government is duty bound to remove such barriers so that health rights are met in reality.

As a person with disability, how has been the experience for you?

The first barrier is the access to information for people with disabilities. For example, how many people with disabilities have access to the healthcare laws, rights, and systems, The government and private sector should ensure every person is informed and knowledgeable.

Other barriers are in the negative attitudes, discriminatory language, Economical barrier for people with disabilities.

Insightful thoughts @CerebralPalsiedMARIA . people with disabilities equally deserve all the access to matters healthcare as it availed to the non- disabled persons.

I am a disabled individual that had my personal health information disclosed without me even being aware of the disclosure until several months later. as a result, it has been a complete nightmare for me. Unfortunately, it affects every aspect of my life. I wonder if this problem is more prominent with people that have a disability as opposed to not having a disability. I really am not sure.
