Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! As PWDs we do feel where shoes pinch. The main reasons are underestimation, stigma, discrimination and job qualifications.
Some of us don't fit on the job market because we lack the high standards of job descriptions.
Differently abled PWD'S in the Neurodiverse community face a challenge due to learning difficulties that prevent them from attaining a Diploma, Degrees and Master's this creates a huge gap on employment amongst the Neurodiverse community.
Non the less we do have way's of getting into the job market. Depending on the individual's interest, the trainings should be suitable to a PWD's needs too.
There are a number of programs that can lead to employment. Advocacy for instance many people may link advocacy to law, which isn't just the case any people can advocate for recognition whether in the disability community or fighting for the rights for women.
Self-advocacy is important too and by sharing your own experiences can capture people interest and some may relate to them, this then opens a door to other opportunities which lead them to leadership roles.
Many organizations have started having Young Leadership trainings that invest in their future's creating an impact in society.
Which is a great initiative, don't you think?
