Dear Community,
we are excited to celebrate you all and each other on the International Day of Persons with Disability! Let us know how you celebrated each other and what you would like to focus on when discussing disability.
At EnableMe, we work with the social definition of disability. This means that we see the disability created by society's barriers rather than by the person who does not fit the norms of their society. We want to acknowledge that the disability comes from the way in which society makes life more difficult and less accessible for people with different abilities. Therefore, society needs to adapt - not the individual!
Wishing you a Happy International Day of Persons with Disability! Congratulations on taking a step towards disability inclusion!
