INCLUSIVE SPORTS

As a person with disability, i am interested in participating in sport, as i believe i have a talent, but there arises a challenge for me to explore my sporting talent as the field is not friendly neither is it fitted with disability friendly sporting equipment, and thus i left aside just a spectator, what should be done to promote sport for children with disabilities from an early age?

Worried individual!!!!!🙄🙄

sports is fun! Back then I had that there are talent schools which will be nurturing individual talents, I was thinking if they exist they can admit young talents of children with disabilities

Well for sports Bernard, i could say that the government has tried to promote this sector. As a person with disability i have participated in many sporting tonaments designed for persons with disabilities. What they haven't done is to mainstream this so that even the general population can participate if the would like to. But this is cross-cutting internationaly as most states also do the same as Kenya. Sideline the sports and give it a special category as they like to call it.

@steverarvey Thank you for sharing your experience. On Inclusive Sports my thinking would be making sporting activities accessible to persons with disabilities. Different sporting category for persons with disabilities helps, but looking at the larger picture of INCLUSION then there is need to have all MAINSTREAM sporting activities been INCLUSIVE not only in the SPECIAL category
