The communication and advocacy assistant will be responsible for co-creating a variety of multimedia content, and ensure it as a dynamic, engaging and accurate resource for the target audience. They will proactively assist with expanding the reach and impact of the community online and implementing digital engagement strategies, as well as identify and engage with key influencers to increase the breadth of reach further.
They will also support with creating the Zero Malaria Campaign Coalition content for the monthly newsletter.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide communications support for a variety of external events and campaigns (in parliament, with corporate partners, with press or with celebrity ambassadors) including overseas visits
• Contributing to the research of strategy documents, reports, media materials and issue briefs
• Assist with the Kenya project management (e.g., updating work plans, support to tracking budgets)
• Support the partnership engagement with DNMP and key stakeholders
• Promote and ensure online visibility, engagement for national campaigns and other key events
• Administrative support on a variety of events across the organization
• Brief. liaise with and manage a variety of external suppliers including printers, designers, photographers, videographers and other agencies
• Support other programme responsibilities as required
• Manage media clippings, tracking coverage and results
PERSON SPECIFICATION: ESSENTIALS
• An interest in malaria and global health issues
• Be energetic with a flexible can-do attitude, and ready to work hard alongside everyone in the team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, enabling good team working, asking for help when needed
• An ability to work proactively and independently, meet deadlines and
prioritize tasks
PERSON SPECIFICATION: DESIRABLES
• Be comfortable with using Microsoft Office packages
• Able to learn new technology skills quickly
• Some office working experience
• A lived malaria experience is a plus
