What quotes do you know on Autism?

While working on what to write about in this Autism awareness month, I came across a wide pool of material. From pages and pages on Wikipedia giving a lay of what Autism is, to posts of people sharing about their experiences. I even got to see about six TED Talks that spoke on Autism. It was also great seeing blogs with nice content more so on quotes about Autism. Some of the quotes were actually from people with autism and that was really nice. Words have a way to evoke emotions and with just the write words, deep messages are passed. Words have a way to outlive us that's why as long as its written, someone can someday get to retrieve it. With advancement of tech, it's easy to have like constant records that keep updating by the time due to more and more content being put out there.

This are some of the quotes that touched me. And below the quotes is a poem made from the quotes.

It seems that for success in science or art, a dash of autism is essential.”

-Hans Asperger

I am different, not less

-Dr. Temple Grandin

Autism is as much a part of humanity as is the capacity to dream

-Kathleen Seidel

Autism can't define me, only I can define autism

-Dr Kerry Margo

Everybody has a heart that can be touched by something

- Naoki Higashida

There are enough people in the world who are going to write you off. You don’t need to do that to yourself

- Susan Boyle

Anything Is possible! If I can do it, so can you!

- Dani Bowman

Even for parents of children that are not on the spectrum, there is no such thing as a normal child.”

-Violet Stevens

I do not suffer from Autism, but I do suffer from the way you treat me.”

-Tyler Durdin

If you think I’m puzzling, Imagine what the world is like for me

"I am different, not less

This are words that ring in my mind"

When I want to block out all the noise

Cause I want silence so that in my mind

I'm able to think without you crowding me

"I do not suffer from Autism,

but I do suffer from the way you treat me"

You make me feel like being different is bad

Like there's a need for me be like you

While I'm just okay with being me

"If you think I'm puzzling,

Imagine what the world is like for me"

With all this sarcasm, bunter going around

It's hard for me to understand

If they mean it or its just a prank

They're many things that I'm trying to put to mind

For I need to learn how the world works and thinks

Cause opinions about me matter

It's not all about that's just one person talking

It's about who'll be there listening in on the conversation

For they're people whose words are golden

People whose opinions shape knowledge as we know it

And if they can sing a tune for Autism

That will be one extra advocate for disability out there

For we'll be part of the conversation, deep into it

They're many things I'd want to learn

So that I can bring impact to this world

But it doesn't come easy for me to learn

I might struggle but still give it a try

Because I know all it takes is effort

For it's the same effort that's gotten me here

The effort that has gotten people wanting to listen

Cause they see a need to learn a new

To learn that the world can accommodate all of us

That the beauty of colours can be seen through our Autistic eye
