How fast does stomach cancer grow?

I have heard that cancer grows and spreads at different rates. Supposedly it decreases with age? Is this true and does it also apply to stomach cancer?

In general, cancer cells multiply much faster than healthy cells, and without stopping. This is due to the characteristic of unrestrained cell division of tumour cells and the very good supply of new blood vessels, which the cancer cells order from the body, so to speak. However, some tumours grow slowly and unnoticed for years and only show symptoms when they are already quite large. This is one of the problems that stomach cancer patients face. For a long time, many of those affected do not notice that there is a tumour growing. The symptoms are not clear enough and are either not noticed or misinterpreted. There are also tumour forms that grow very quickly and lead to death in a short time. One example is glioblastoma - a malignant brain tumour.

In general, it can be said that cancer cells grow more slowly in ageing people because metabolism and cell division are slower there. Nevertheless, cancer can also lead to death there, as was the case with leukaemia in the 73-year-old American soul legend Etta James, who recently died of it.
