Migraine... every day? Can that be?

Настройки

Since May 2013 I have been suffering from unbearable pain on one side almost EVERY day! Some days this pain is not so intense, but when I have attacks I wish someone would kill me. Overall, it's 3-5 days a month without pain. I have tried everything: Paracetamol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen 600 and 800, Novaminsulfone.... NOTHING helps!!! Yesterday I took Sumatriptan for the first time... shortly after taking it I felt much worse, the headache was almost gone but my general condition was quite bad. For two hours I had chills, tears, my eyes were shaking and I couldn't open them. I had strange pains in my neck, shoulders and arms.... I thought I was going to die. I don't want to take these tablets any more. I don't know what else I can do with my pain. Today I had an MRI of my head and I will get the pictures in a week.

    Response 1:

First of all, I would like to welcome you to the forum. You have landed in a good forum here.

Your description could be many things. Cervical vertebrae, ...also migraine. Especially in women, migraines are often stronger and longer. However, a remote diagnosis is not advisable!

You write that you had an MRI. Which doctor sent you there? Is it your family doctor?

Under no circumstances should you medicate yourself, I don't believe in that. As in your case, it can backfire. It can even get worse.

Talk to your doctor and tell him about your pain and feelings! Under no circumstances should you take any painkillers!

You don't have to wait until next week for this pain.

If you have further questions, ask them. We are here for you!

    Response 2:

It's very good that you had an MRI of the skull. You can see a lot there. But not everything. You can exclude some potential diagnoses of the cause of migraine.

It is very good that you only take prescribed medication! This way, an interaction is almost impossible. Why don't you write down all the medicines you are taking for or against migraine? Migraines can have many different causes, so consult a neurologist. This specialist is your first point of contact. If he or she is at the end of his or her tether, get advice from a pain therapist. You can tell them about all the medications you have already taken.

You should see a specialist because this condition is very complex. Migraine is very treatable, as far as we know today.

Let me hear from you. It's nice to know how things are going for you.

All the best and good luck!
