Peer support helps persons with disabilities have a safe space to open up and seek solutions together to the challenges they are facing. A problem shared feels less heavy to the person having the problem and this means less stress on the part of the victim and a sense of belonging among the peer group. It also means they have something to hold on to in the event they are feeling lonely because of the challenges they are facing.
